Katherine Lambros skipped just one day of her studies when she gave birth to her son and was back in the classroom the day after. Ms Lambros was working full-time and studying the Graduate Certificate in Policy Analysis program part-time when she gave birth to her son, Constantine.
"With such a positive birthing experience and great support from my husband and family, I didn't want to miss the presentations by our guest lecturers," Ms Lambros said. "The flexibility and encouragement from Griffith enabled me to continue my studies.
My Dad cared for my baby while I was in class. He came to the university and was able to join us for breaks and I was able to breastfeed my new son," she said. Ms Lambros is acting manager in the intergovernmental funding and policy co-ordination unit for the Queensland government.
For further information on the program, contact Program Director Dr Anne Tiernan on 07 373 53986 or email gbs-postgrad@griffith.edu.au.

"I am pleased I chose to do my research Masters studies at Griffith because my supervisor has been so supportive, and facilitated me being able to explore a distinctive niche area of learning - Service Learning; a type of learning environment that can transform student's personal development and academic success.
My experience in my research program has been that it's been flexible enough for my otherwise very busy professional life, but Griffith provides plenty of support to make sure I succeed." Carol Joy Patrick, Master of Higher Education in Service Learning.
